LAKE CITY (5)
Coming off a strong 6th-place finish at the 2018 State meet and being led by one of the top individuals in Class A in Jacey Majerus, Lake City has been one of the most consistent and deepest teams in Class A over the past five years with the added challenge of having to compete in Section 1A (which prevented them from qualifying for State two years ago despite being ranked all season). This year, however, Lake City should feel confident about returning to State as they return all seven runners from last year's State team and also own enviable enviable depth that includes ten runners who have lifetime bests of 21:46 or better (and the departure of the Pings doesn't hurt their team chances either). The key for Lake City to move up in the standings will be if the 1-3 gap of over 100 seconds is cut down to a minute or less.
