Discuss the transition from high school competition to competing at the college level. What adjustments have you had to make in order to be as successful as possible?

In my case the transition wasn't a tough one to make I felt I was ready for the next step, but it took me until my junior year in college to really get comfortable and to start to be competitive at a national level. In order to be successful, I think it is important to stick with the training and if you don't see immediate improvements to stick with the training and working hard.

Tell us about your training regimen by giving a general overview of what goes into getting prepared for your next big event.

Each week is close to the same. Mondays is a sprint day, Tuesday we vault and then lift, Wednesday we typically have a light recovery type day, and then after that we play it by ear according to when the next meet is. In order to stay ready, we tend to have a short quick vault session the day before the meet.

What athletic-based goals do you hope to accomplish during this upcoming year?

I hope in the next year to get back to the national meet and win it. In a side goal to that one I hopefully will be jumping 18ft plus in the next year.

How has your training and schedule changed because of the current pandemic?

I now pretty much train whenever I can find free time. The hard part is trying to find somewhere to jump no facilities want to open or even had the chance to get set up this year with everything going on.

Do you have any advice that you can offer an incoming freshman on how to best deal with the higher level of competition they'll encounter at the college level? Also, what tips can you provide regarding the balance between training commitments and academic demands?
