MSHSL Votes Not to Hold Meets After Sections

The Minnesota State High School League voted today, at their Board of Directors meeting, to end the boys and girls cross country season after sections are run.

The fall sports postseason discussion Thursday included a proposal to hold one more round of games, in which the eight section champions would square off. The board voted it down on a 10-8 vote and settled on the section tournament plan, which will yield eight champions in each class of each sport.

October 17th will be the last date to hold a section tournament or competition.

This is the first time the State Cross Country meet has been canceled. It's only been delayed once due to the Halloween blizzard of 1991.

More information to come as available.
