When Brooke Baumann of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted crossed the finish line as the final runner in the small school girl's individual heat on Saturday at the TC Running Cross Country Showcase, she effectively ended the 2020 Minnesota cross country season.
The season ended without an official MSHSL State Championship, but most of the top runners in the state attended the TC Running XC Showcase. The showcase was a club event put on after the MSHSL season ended and was intended to be a state championship race substitute.
Though the winners won't be official state champions, they will have some great bragging rights.
Congrats to everyone on a fantastic and well-run cross country season! We look forward to seeing everyone out running this winter. Track season will be here before we know it!
