The field will feature Mounds View's (MN) Elliott McArthur, who opened up his indoor season at The VA Showcase to a personal best time of 4:15.34, which ranks him US No. 4 in this event.
That marked a three-second improvement from his personal best effort of 4:18, which he achieved in a time trial over the summer. Officially, though, it's a significant improvement from his 4:38.01, which he ran outdoors in June.

His 1,600m split was 4:13.92. Based on the MileSplit database, this is the fastest indoor 1,600m by a Minnesota high school boy all-time.
