Ramy Ayoub is turning heads, blowing past the competition, and breaking records as the undisputed king of the mid-distance in Minnesota this season.
Just last week Ayoub had some spectacular performances at the South Suburban Conference Championships where he set new PRs in the 400m, and 800m while coming away with both conference titles. He also led a remarkable comeback as the anchor in the 4x800 to take that title. With those races, Ayoub set state best this season in the 400m with a time of 48.34 and in the 800m with a time of 1:52.54.
He is now tied for the 31st fastest 400m time in state history alongside former state champion Eric Gebeke. It is also the fastest 400m in the state since Keylan Johnsons 48.31 from the 2018 state meet. Alongside being the fastest 400m runner in the state, his 48.34 is the 27th fastest time for his class of 2022.
