Isabella Roemer, yet another Minnesota native from Chanhassen High School, has personal bests that aren't too far off the marks that we've seen Weimer produce on the track.
In the 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters, for instance, Roemer has run excellent times of 4:50 and 10:26, respectively. Those kinds of performances put Roemer into a nationally competitive category and even place her in the conversation of being a true freshman who can have an instant impact next year.
Coach Sarah Hopkins on Roemer: "Izzy had a breakout season last spring on the track that saw her running some of the best distance times in the country! She is a talented runner, and an even better person who will fit in great at Minnesota athletically and as a great teammate. We are excited that Izzy is staying home and can't wait to see her in maroon and gold next year!"
