Future Stars: 2022 Minnesota Boys and Girls On the Rise

Lauren Lansing, Farmington High School

Class of 2027

---

The talented seventh-grader from Farmington has burst onto the scene to start this year's track and field season after coming off a very impressive cross country season. Lansing ran at the Mankato Varsity Showcase in the 1600m where she ran a 5:31.27 to finish in 8th place 20 seconds behind Halle Mestery.

Her time of 5:31.27 is the top 1600m time by a seventh-grader in Minnesota so far this season, just ahead of Cara Back who ran a 5:47.98 for Rogers High School. The impressive part is where this lands Lansing all-time in Minnesota for a seventh-grader and her national rank.

Nationally this year for all seventh-grade girls, Lansing ranks 8th in the 1600m. It's not far fetched to see her rapidly improve her 1600m PR over the course of the season, and make some waves as a 7th grader this season.
