The first day of cross country meets may be August 25th, but the St. Olaf High School Showcase is always the unofficial start of the season with many of the state's top runners and teams coming together at the state meet site to determine the early season hierarchy of Minnesota cross country.
The team battles here will include Coaches Association boys ranked teams such as Class A boys Perham and Staples-Motley, and Class AA boys teams Dassel-Cokato and Mankato East. No Class AAA boys preseason coaches rankings exist.
On the girls side for Class A we have Perham, and Staples-Motley; for Class AA we have Mankato East; and for Class AAA we have Wayzata, Minnetonka, Mounds View, Farmington, Hopkins, and STMA.
This is sure to be a meet to remember with top-flight teams and top-flight runners facing off against each other and putting their summer training to the test.
