Tinoda Matsatsa began his season on all the right notes.

The senior from St. Andrew's Episcopal School (MD) has already racked up a slew of personal bests and nationally-ranked performances, including marks of 3:59.33 in the 1,500m and 4:15.25 in the mile in mid-December.

But perhaps Matsatsa's best performance of the season to date came at the F.I.A. Holiday Indoor Classic on Dec. 30, clocking 1:51.78 to win the 800m.

That not only earned him what was a nation-leading 800m mark at the time, but also designation at National Boys Performer Of The Week in week four.

Matsatsa earned 57-percent of the vote to earn the indoor performer honor last week.

This week's poll features more athletes who've recently registered nation-leading marks, and some who have even broken state records and previous personal bests.

Noah Breker, Robbinsdable Armstrong (MN): Clocked a Minnesota 3,000m state record and US No. 1 time of 8:25.24 to win at the USATF All-Comers Indoor Track and Field meet.

Yashahya Brown, Washington TWP (NJ): Ran a nation-leading time of 7.46 in the 55mH to win the event at the Ocean Breeze Freedom Games. 

Brian O'Sullivan, Hillsborough (NJ): Cleared a new personal best and US No. 2 height of 16-6.25 to win the pole vault at the Skyland Conference Indoor Championship.

Andrew Regnier, Milwaukee Speed Academy (WI): Clocked a US No. 1 1:51.56 in the 800m to win the event at the Twilight Indoor meet.

Jordan Good, Western Guilford (NC): Earned a spot atop the 500m national leaderboards thanks to a 1:04.27 500m performance at the Liberty Premier Invitational.

Charles Perry, UMS-Wright (AL): Won the 1,600m at the Ice Breaker #2 meet with a PR of 4:09.92, which also ranks as the top time in the nation thus far this season. Perry also won the 800m where he clocked a personal best of 1:55.51.
