Minnesota Outdoor Breakthrough Performances: Week of April 13

Ellie RolfzenSeveral Minnesota high school track and field athletes posted personal records during meets held April 13-16.

Brandon Long (Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop) threw 145-0 in the discus at the LCWM/Nicollet Meet #1 on April 14, improving from his previous best of 113-0 set in May 2025. The mark places him 35th among 2,342 Minnesota athletes and ninth among juniors. Long also set a personal record in the shot put, improving from 37-7 to 41-6 at the same meet.

Aubrie Vanier (Eden Prairie) ran 13.04 in the 100 meters at Eden Prairie vs Maple Grove on April 14, dropping from her previous personal record of 14.12 set in April 2025. The sophomore ranks 104th in the state among 4,339 athletes and 20th among sophomores, finishing second in a field of 82 runners.
