Minneapolis Washburn
Washburn is another great team who could fall victim to the "Section of Death." Like Minnetonka, they will return all 7 members of their section team last season where they finished 4th. Emily Covert, last spring's 3200m runner-up in a time of 10:31, is returning as the top runner for Washburn, hot off a remarkable track season (she also went 4:58 in the 1600). Making it to State looks right now to be an uphill battle for the Washburn girls, but they are undoubtedly a top 5 team in State on paper, and they are still really young (5 of their 7 top runners will be back in 2018 also). These ladies won't be going anyway any time soon.
