Conference Championships Begin - Tuesday Meets

Location: Avrig Park

Forecast: Sunny, high of 55; race temperature in the mid 40s (a little chilly)

BOYS

Top Teams: Perham (22), Breckenridge (72), Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (74)

Top Individuals: Carson Speicher (Perham, 16:16), Clayton Anderson (Perham, 16:24), Hunter Gowin (Breckenridge, 16:41), Brandon O'Hara (Perham, 16:56), Daniel Wilson (Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, 17:01)

The Skinny: The Perham boys will have a good chance to really challenge themselves for an incredibly low team score here. Although it will be difficult a top-five sweep could be possible! A fair distance behind will be the teams from Breckenridge and Dilworth competing for the second and third spots. Individually, Carson Speicher will look to lead his Perham teammates with an individual victory. Teammate Clayton Anderson and Hunter Gowin of Breckenridge are his most dangerous competitors. Brandon O'Hara, Bailey Evenson, Chase Belka (all from Perham), Daniel Wilson (Dilworth), and Zach Haire (Breckenridge) will challenge each other for the top five spots.

GIRLS

Top Teams: Perham (23), Lake Park-Audubon (69), Pelican Rapids (93)

Top Individuals: Caitlin Covington (Perham, 19:21), Ellie Morgan (Frazee, 19:38), Lily Peterson (Lake Park-Audubon, 19:47), Ashley Hokanson (Perham, 19:51), Liz Birkeland (Perham, 19:52)

The Skinny: Once again, the Perham girls will take this fairly comfortably (our virtual meet has them putting 6 in the top ten)! Lake Park-Audubon seems to have a comfortable cushion ahead of challengers Pelican Rapids on the second place spot. Perham's Caitlin Covington is the heavy favorite, and coming off a PR last week at the Perham Invite she will be looking to ride that momentum to a win. Ellie Morgan of Frazee will have something to say about that, as will Lily Peterson, the 8th grader from Lake Park-Audubon. A flurry of Perham girls will be coming in around the 6-10 spots, but could be joined by Megan Danielson of Frazee and Abby Syverson of Pelican Rapids.
