Iverson is the lone Minnesota individual on the boys side. His participation in the national meet caps off a meteoric rise to the top of the sport. His season has been highlighted by a runner-up finish at State, and a sixth-place finish at NXR Heartland.
Heading into the race, Iverson hopes to place in the top twenty, and his strategy to do so is simple. "Just sit in a pack and let them push me." With his training plan during the season geared towards peaking for State, it was a tough turnaround for Iverson to accommodate all of the post-season races. "We upped my mileage again after regionals and then tapered again quickly."
Iverson is looking forward to racing with the fellow individual qualifiers, Matt Meinke, Derick Peters, Wesley Shiek, and Drew Bosley. He credits Nike for their setup, and the experience that they have provided for him.
