Run, Write, Repeat: The Best of 2017

      1. Kitty Berube Makes The Jump

Entering the fall, Edina senior Kitty Berube had never run a 5k time faster than 26 minutes. But after significant changes in lifestyle and attitude, she soon established herself as one of Edina's varsity runners. After a strong showing at the Roy Griak meet, Berube was moved up to the team's highest training group. She ran an incredible State meet to finish 23rd in a time of 18:49, and went on to be an essential piece of the Edina machine that qualified for NIke Nationals. Her transformation in her final year of high school (ending with a season best of 18:11) marks one of the most incredible jumps seen in cross-country running for some time, and should serve as an inspiration to anybody willing to put in the work needed to elevate themselves to another level.
