Otterdahl Brothers Compete at USATF Outdoor Championships

---

The Otterdahl family had three reasons to tune into the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships with Payton Otterdahl, Trevor Otterdahl, and Maxwell Otterdahl all competing in the throws events.

By the end of the competition, Payton Otterdahl had earned a place on Team USA and will compete at next month's World Athletic Championships, Maxwell finished 12th overall in the shot put and Trevor competed in the Hammer Throw where he finished 16th overall.

This was the second time the three brothers competed at the same meet this year, with all of them competing at the Drake Relays, with Trevor being in the invitational category, and Payton/Maxwell being in the elite event.

This was the first time however, that all three brothers have competed at a U.S. Indoor or Outdoor National Championships. Overall, Payton has competed at 7 U.S. Indoor or Outdoor National Championships meets and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Trevor has competed at two U.S. Championships and Maxwell just competed in his first.

Among the world rankings, Payton ranks #6 this outdoor season worldwide in the shot put, Maxwell ranks #23 in the shot put, and Trevor ranks #113 in the hammer throw.

It's been a banner year for the three brothers with Payton not placing lower than 3rd in any shot put competition this outdoor season, Trevor winning three Summit League titles and qualifying for his first two U.S. Championships, and Maxwell winning three Big Ten Conference meet medals and qualifying for his first U.S. Championship meet.

With the Otterdahl brothers in the midst of or at the beginning of their professional careers, it will be quite the journey to watch the three brothers all competing with and against each other for years to come.
