How have your coaches impacted your track and field career?
Coach Jason Peterson has been a father figure for me these past 4 year and saying goodbye will be tough, but he has been such a good sprinting coach for this program and I've learned so much from him. Not only just about track but about life too.
What are the most difficult obstacles you have faced as an athlete?
Injuries.
What will you miss most about track and field?
All the friends I've made, and Coach Peterson.
What would be your advice for newcomers in track?
For my fellow sprinters - workout in the offseason during winter, but also don't just run track because that's the worst thing you can do for your body. Play another sport like soccer or basketball. Enjoy high school sports!
What post-graduation plans do you have?
I will be attending Minnesota State University - Mankato, and will be majoring in Law Enforcement and minoring in Computer Engineering, hopefully to become an FBI agent. I will also be running on the Mavericks track and field team! I'm very excited for college next year and very excited for the opportunity to continue my running career at the next level.
Is there anyone you would like to say "Thank You" to?
My parents, my brother Jordan, and Coach Jason Peterson for pushing me to become the person and athlete I am today.
Anything I'd like to add?
"You'll never get better at anything you do until you give 110%" - Coach Jason Peterson
