FULL MEET RESULTS

BOYS RECAP: Owatonna showcased a solid early 1-5 split of 1:12 in winning the team competition by 24 points over second place Rochester Century despite their split of just 45 seconds. Owatonna was led by sophomore Preston Meier in a time of 16:53.0. Owatonna put their top five in the top ten which gave them the win in a smaller meet, though Century and third place Albert Lea (31 seconds) posted better team splits. Albert Lea had their top five come in between 17:54 and 18:26. while Century came in between 17:32 and 18:18. It will be fun to see how things will play out for those rivals in a bigger or more competitive field throughout the season.

GIRLS RECAP: Rochester Century earned a solid win over Mankato West and Rochester Mayo who tied for second (West's sixth runner broke the tie). Owatonna eighth grader Carsyn Brady won in the individual title as the only runner under 20 minutes (19:55.2). Aside from Brady, the top three schools occupied nine of the top ten spots and were just 20 seconds apart in team averages. This meet was an excellent look at the top of section 1AA and gives us lots to look forward to the next few weeks.

MANKATO EAST INVITATIONAL

FULL MEET RESULTS

BOYS RECAP: Led by individual champ Jett Oachs, Mankato East took home the team title at their home invite. All seven runners from East placed in the top ten winning head to head match ups with second place Belle Plaine in every spot. Oachs ran 16:55, over 30 seconds ahead of second place finisher, Drew Hastings (17:33) of Belle Plaine. 

SCORES: Mankato East (31), Belle Plaine (55), Sibley East (59)

GIRLS RECAP: Belle Plaine took a narrow win over Mankato East, led by senior McKenna Herrmann's winning time of 20:14, 45 seconds ahead of second place finisher Olivia Beschorner of East. Belle Plaine's ranked seventh in the coaches poll and this could be a great launching pad up the standings in the future.

FULL MEET RESULTS

BOYS RECAP: Ely took the boys the team title behind a top five that all placed within the top ten. The anticipated head to head meeting of freshman Cameron Locke (Virginia) and senior Luke Olson (Ely) went to Locke who won the race in a solid 16:21.2 over Olson's 16:377. Ely's average of 17:23 and split of 1:28 is an excellent early season result that no one in the field could stick with in the team standings. Ely senior James Schwinghamer was third in 17:03.7 to give his squad a quality number two with plenty of time to move up this season.

GIRLS RECAP: Led by Ava Hill's individual win (19:45.1), Mesabi East took the team victory as well. Hill cruised to a 45 second win over second place Addie Peterson of Hermantown. Mesabi East benefited from the smaller field in their nine point win over second place Hibbing who posted a 49 second split and went 11-12-15-16-17 and pulled back 16 points in the fourth and fifth spots but could not overcome the 1-4-8 top three of Mesabi.

FULL MEET RESULTS

BOYS RECAP: St Anthony Village took the team win over Holy Angels in the two-mile conference preview event. Senior Jack Peschel of Holy Angels took the individual win in a narrow four second margin over second place DeLaSalle sophomore William Skelly. St Anthony put all five in the top to overcome Holy Angels who put three in the top eight but lost their advantage in the fourth and fifth man slots.

SCORES: St Anthony Village (40), Holy Angels (48), DeLaSalle (58)

GIRLS RECAP: Visitation earned the team win with top runner Sadie Grunau taking the two-mile individual victory. Visitation put their scoring five in the top 12 to overcome St Anthony Village by narrow head to head wins at all five scoring spots.
