Meet Previews: Action Continues with Four Key Events

ROSEMOUNT IRISH INVITE

Location: Rosemount HS
Weather: 60, sunny

BOYS

Virtual Meet Projection**: Eden Prairie (76.5), Highland Park (112), Minnetonka (120)

Individuals to watch: Oliver Paleen (Highland Park, 15:44.0), Jake Derouin (Eden Prairie, 15:51.2), Max Lauerman (Minnetonka, 16:00.6), Aaron Kruse (16:01.0), Gabe Smit (16:01.7)

The Skinny: This one will come down to which athletes the entered schools race on the day. Many of the strong programs entered in the race like Mounds View raced a quality group on Thursday at St. Olaf or will race their varsity elsewhere this weekend. It's also a two mile so there are a lot of variables that make it interesting to predict. Some of the early season names to watch for a state title could be in the field so tracking the results could be fun on many levels.

GIRLS

Virtual Meet Projection: Stillwater (78), Farmington (81), Eden Prairie (98.5)

Individuals to Watch:

Anna Fenske (Farmington, 17:31.1), Analee Weaver (17:52.2), Molly Moening (Highland Park, 17:52.3), Liesl Paulsen (Eden Prairie, 17:59.2), Avery Braunshausen (Stillwater, 18:09.3)
The Skinny: Similar to the Boys it's all about who actually enters. It's possible Anna Fenske will race as she did so last year but has already run a 5k this season, last week at Lester Park. Several of the states top class AA runers could be in the field among a list of teams that are also state meet contenders. Keeping an eye on the results when then come in tomorrow afternoon will be interesting.
