What are some of your big goals for this outdoor track and field season?
To win state in all three of my events, and help my team to win a state championship.
Are you more motivated to excel since last year's track and field season was canceled?
Yes, the anticipation has been building and I'm super excited to get back out on the track.
When last year's track season was canceled, how did that affect your training?
Soccer is my main sport so I was able to just keep focused on that, but it was different to not be going to track practice.
What have you been up to since we last saw you on the track (training, competing, anything else)?
Training with my club soccer team and playing in tournaments and league games. I have also been doing tons of training on my own, including lifting at Training Haus which has helped my speed and agility and also to gain power and strength.
What are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?
The track meets and being surrounded by teammates and being in a team atmosphere again.
I saw that you committed to the University of North Carolina for soccer. What made you choose UNC?
The combination of the athletics and academics sold the program to me. The dynasty built within the UNC women's soccer program is an opportunity I couldn't pass up.
What has been your greatest accomplishment in track and field?
Setting the school records in the 100, 200, and 400. Also, getting 2nd place as a freshman in the 100, 200, and 400.
How has playing soccer helped you in track and field, and vice versa?
Track has for sure helped me to become more explosive and quick in soccer. Although soccer has definitely helped my fitness, running the 400 and also being able to persevere through a hard race.
