Former Hopkins and University Colorado standout and current On Athletics Club runner, Joe Klecker ran a blistering 13:06.67 5000m at the Sound Running Invite to meet the Olympic qualifying standard of 13:13.50 and to qualify to run in the Olympic Trials. This performance was good for 4th place overall at the invite and is good for a 22 second personal best.

He also got praise from his On Athletic Club coach and one of the all-time great American runners Dathan Ritzenhein.
The U.S. Olympic Trials for track and field will take place June 18-27 2021 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
