Minnesota Adds Immense Talent with In-State Recruits

Ali Weimer comes to the University of Minnesota as one of the most talented in-state recruits to stay home for the Gophers in years. A two-time state champion in cross country and track (with one more track season to go), Weimer has long been a talented runner, but this year has taken her running to another level. This year she has set personal best times in the 800m (2:16.98), 1600m (4:49.93), 3200m (10:21.41), and the XC 5K (17:03.30). Her times in the 1600m and 3200m were the 2nd best in the state in 2021, only behind Analee Weaver, and her 5k time was the best in Minnesota this season.

Weimer ranked #40 nationally this cross country season for the 5K and ranks as the #33 ranked returner in the 1600m for this outdoor track season and #22 ranked returner in the 3200m.
