Want One Last Chance to Compete? - Wayzata Last Chance Meets

---

Sometimes, you just don't want the track and field season to end.

If that is the case for you, then you have the power to postpone your season's end at least another week or so. Wayzata High School is hosting two meets in the coming days for any athletes who have completed their MSHSL season (that is, they either have already run at Sections or Subsections, or will not run at Sections, and will not compete at State). In addition, the meets are open to anyone else of any age (ie, parents, grandparents, graduates, children, etc) who wish to compete.

Here is the statement from Wayzata assistant coach Brandon Heebink...

Wayzata HS will be hosting 2 last chance meets over the next 2 weeks that are open to ANYONE who would like an opportunity to race.

Wednesday, June 1st (Distance Classic) Time: 5:00 pm Location: Wayzata HS Track

Wednesday, June 8th (Last Chance Meet)Time: 7:30 pm Location: Wayzata HS Track

Both meets are completely FREE and open to ANYONE of any age and gender. The order of events will be 800m, 1600m, and 3200m for both meets with the number of heats based on the number of athletes competing. In the past, shorter events like the 400m and 300m hurdles have been contested if there is interest. Just show up, sign up for the event(s) you would like to run, and step on the track to compete!!
