Noah Breker from the 2022 St. Olaf HS Showcase
---
While he may not have won the elusive state cross country title last weekend, Breker came back this weekend on a high note to set a new Minnesota boys state 5K record at the Heartland Regional.
Breker finished 4th overall behind Jackson Heidesch, Simeon Birnbaum, and Ford Washburn to run a time of 14:51.0 to set a new Minnesota state record.

1 | Noah Breker | Robbinsdale Armstrong | 14:51.00 |

The previous record was held by Seth Eliason who ran a time of 14:54.10 at the 2016 Heartland Regional where he beat out Alex Miley (then #2 all-time) by a hundredth of a second.
2022 Class AAA state champion Aidan Jones also entered the top ten list for Minnesota boys with a 6th-place finish time of 15:01.20.
Breker also holds the Minnesota in-state record which he set this year with a time of 14:57.20 at the Hopkins Baum/Rovn Invitational where he also set the Gale Woods Farm course record.
Breker had been battling a nagging respiratory illness and an ankle injury that limited him at the Section 6AAA Championships and at the MSHSL State Cross Country Championships but seems to have come back healthy for the Heartland Regional in South Dakota.
