Minnesota Runners Garner National MileSplit Attention

It's that time of the year when the National rankings really come into play for individuals and teams with the regional meets going on currently and the national level meets on the horizon. 

Here we look at the Minnesota teams and individuals that are ranked currently in the MileSplit50 National rankings.

Abbey Nechanicky stayed at the #3 spot in the MileSplit50 National Girls Individual Rankings. " The Colorado signee continued her undefeated season as she won the Team Heartland Regional Championships in 16:44. Nechanicky led Wayzata to the team title which earned an auto-qualifying spot to Portland".

In previous iterations of the rankings, Nechanicky has gone from being unranked during the preseason, to #11 in the week 1 ranking, and then up to #1 in week 3 at the Roy Griak Invitational. She has settled into a top 3 spot in the national rankings now and will look to make some noise at Nationals. 

The other ranked individual in the MileSplit50 rankings is Robbinsdale Armstrongs Noah Breker who shows up at #24 after bouncing back at the Team Heartland Regional where he placed fifth with a new Minnesota state record time of 14:51.00.

Showing up in Honorable Mention spots in the individual rankings are Aidan Jones, Sam Scott, Sydney Drevlow, and Jade Rypkema

For the team rankings, only the Wayzata boys and girls are ranked with the boys coming in at #15 and the girls coming in at #7. Both the Wayzata boys and girls won the Team Heartland Regional and will represent Minnesota at Team Nationals.

Honorable mention teams included the Rosemount boys who finished 5th at Heartland and the Minnetonka girls who finished #3 at Heartland.
