It's not often you see a duo of track and field athletes in Minnesota top the state rankings as teammates as Torasbjorn Lunaas and Peyton Byrne do for Stewartville High School right now as the current Minnesota #1 and #2 in the shot put.
Yesterday both Lunaas and Bryne threw big shot put PRs of 54' 10.5" (Lunaas) and 54' 4.45" (Bryne) to finish as the top two shot put competitors at the Stewartville Glen Amundsen Invitational.

Going into the meet Lunaas held a shot put PR of 51' 3.5" and Byrne had a PR of 52' 5" from the 2022 outdoor season. With Lunaas PRing by 3' 7" and Byrne by 1' 11.5".

With both throwers off to a big start to their 2023 outdoor season, they will look to improve on their state finishes from 2022. Bryne finished 4th at state for the Class AA shot put and Lunass finished 7th in the discus.
