A prominent name in Minnesota track and field was drafted over the weekend in former Maple Grove standout Evan Hull. Hull a running back at Northwestern was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round with the No. 176 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
During his career at Northwestern, Hull rushed 488 times for 2,417 yards with 18 touchdowns in 37 games over 4 seasons for the Wildcats. He also caught 94 passes for 851 and 4 receiving touchdowns.

Before his accomplished collegiate career at Northwestern, Hull was a standout track and field athlete at Maple Grove High School where he ran in three different state meets, finished as a state runner-up twice, won five individual conference titles, and a Section 5AA individual title.

In an interview with MileSplit Minnesota back in 2019, Hull said "To young football players, I would say do track as early as you can. Being able to run fast and efficiently is extremely important to being a good football player, so if you can learn it now, you're ahead of the game."
Seems like that advice has paid off for Hull as he is off to start his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts. We wish Hull the best of luck as he starts the next stage of his life.
