Hayden Bills Break Records at Howard Wood Relays

---

Inching his way towards Minnesota state history, Rosemount senior Hayden Bills made history with a throw of 198' 11" at the 2023 Howard Wood Relays en route to winning the event, breaking the meet record, and recording the #3 throw in Minnesota state history.

The throw of 198' 11" was his first of the day in the discus, before throwing 181' 8" and 197' 7" on his other two legal throws. With his win in the discus and also in the shot put, Bills stayed undefeated in both events for the 2023 season.

With a massive first throw of 198' 11" you might've thought that the state record for the discus would've gone down yesterday, but we know that Bills has that in his sight saying "I hope to shatter both the shotput and discus state records this year".

Bills is putting together a recording-breaking season and about all he has left to do is break those records. This year he ranks #1 in Minnesota with his throws of 198' 11" in the discus and 63' 11.75" in the shot put. The current state records are held by Karl Erickson in the discus (201' 7") and Thomas Anderson in the shot put (65' 8").
