Lauren Lansing a rising star 8th-grader at Farmington competed in the girl's junior high 800m at the Brooks PR Invitational in Washington and came away a national junior high champion. She took the lead at about 200 meters into the race and never looked back, coming away with her first big career win.
Lansing ran a time of 2:16.14 to win the girl's junior 800m race against fellow 7th and 8th graders. Lansing was able to just hold off runner-up finisher Ciana Beals who finished with a time of 2:16.78.

Overall, Lansing ranks as the #7 Minnesota 8th-grade girl's 800m runner all-time in Minnesota.
