Poll: Minnesota Boys Runner of the Week (August 24-26)

---

The cross country season officially started last week on Thursday when the first Minnesota cross country meets were run. The first week of cross country is usually slower than the rest, but that didn't stop our runner of the week nominees from running some remarkable times, historic results, and huge PRs.

Here we look at the Minnesota Boy's Runner of the Week Nominees for Week 1 of the cross country season.

Polling starts on Monday at 7 am and ends on Saturday at 7 pm.

Boys Runner of the Week Nominees

Bjorn Anderson (Perham)

The Perham junior took home the win at the Brave Like Gabe Invite where he ran a new PR of 15:19.9 to narrowly beat out Eli Hall for the win. Anderson also led the Perham boys to the team title at the meet where they scored 72 points to beat Hopkins by 24 points. Anderson and Hall both rank tied for 13th nationally this season at the 5K distance.

Eli Hall (Pequot Lakes)

Finishing just behind Anderson at the Brave Like Gabe Invite, Hall ran a time of 15:19.9 to take 2nd place and improve on his old PR of 15:41.82 by 22 seconds. Hall and Anderson both rank tied for 13th nationally this season at the 5K distance.

Will Termont (Bemidji)

The Bemidji senior is off to a hot start to his senior cross country season, finishing 5th at the Brave Like Gabe Invite with a new PR of 15:49.6. This is an improvement of about 26 seconds over his old PR of 16:15.17. This is Termont's first time running a sub-16-minute 5K.

Carter Hering (Hopkins)

A freshman at Hopkins High School, Hering finished 16th at the Brave Like Gabe Invite with a time of 17:00.8. This was a huge PR for Hering over his old PR of 19:36.5 from last years NXR Heartland meet. He ranks as the #1 freshmen in Minnesota this season.

Jace Haerter (Edina)

The only runner here not to run the 5K or at the Brave Like Gabe Invite, Haerter ran at the CP Rebels Northwoods Invite in the 2-Mile where he finished with a time of 10:01.23 to beat out his teammate Zachary Danielson by 4 seconds for the win. He led the Edina boys to a dominant victory over Champlin Park at the meet.
