The Rock Bridge (MO) girls got the varsity races started off with a bang on Saturday night at the Memphis Twilight XC Classic as sophomores Mae Walker and Claire Richardson headlined the team's dominant win with two top 10 finishes in 18:28.79 and 19:37.82, respectively.

Freshman Kaitlyn Reid opened up her high school career with a 20:22.47, good enough for 28th in the field of 326 competitors. With four of the team's five scorers in the top 60, the Rock Bridge ladies tallied 125 points, holding off Houston (TN) and Huntsville (AL) by a thin margin, with the final score being 125-130-133.

Cedar Park Vista Ridge (TX) junior Emma Wade took the individual title, running 18:19.68 and earning a new lifetime best by nine seconds.

After watching the girls team come out on top, it only made sense for Andrew Hauser and company to make it two-for-two.

Hauser, who is gearing up for a big senior campaign and is ranked in MileSplit's preseason top 25, won his first race of the season in 15:16.95. It was the fastest debut of his high school career.

Hauser didn't go alone, though. With the help of his teammates, Luke Sievers (16:02.18) and Ethan Hockman (16:36.87) -- who both finished in the top 16 -- the MSHSAA Class 5 runner-ups from a year ago won by a hefty margin.

They beat Parkway (LA) and Cedar Park Vista Ridge (TX) with a score of 86-175-209.

Lakeside (AR) senior Joseph Bariola was second overall in the championship race in 15:20.16. The time was a new PR.
