Hey everyone, I'm Josh Thorson, a senior at Wayzata High School.

Wayzata is one of the bigger schools in Minnesota with around 3400 students and our cross country team has around 150 high school boys.  We've qualified for NXN for four years (2007-2010) so this is the first year since they started having regional qualifying meets that we haven't made it as a team.

Qualifying for NXN as a senior was really exciting, but I have to admit I'm a little nervous about going without my team (I've gone to NXN each year since 2008).  The race will obviously be familiar but all the in between activities will be a little weird.  But hey, I'm not complaining.

Training has been going really well since NXN.  My quads were a bit sore after the race but that's what you get when you're 10 seconds off the leaders at the mile and seven seconds back at the 3200.  Did a couple 400's yesterday but otherwise have basically been continuing the taper.  Feels good to be at peak fitness.  Now I just hope I can keep it til nationals.

Getting pumped for my progressive run with Brandon Clark tomorrow which should make it more enjoyable.  That should be my last hard workout until Foot Locker and then maybe just something short after that. Other than that, got the football state semifinals tomorrow and I'll be out at the Dome taking pics for our school newspaper (shameless plug: trojantrib.com).  Go Trojans!
