After a big weekend of races there are a few new names showing up in the polls this week. This past weekend saw over 7,500 Minnesota junior high and high school runners competing in races Friday afternoon and Saturday, making for a great opportunity to see some of MInnesota's top runners.

FALCON HEIGHTS, MINN. -- Drake senior Casey McDermott (Newton, Iowa) was 88th at the Roy Griak Invitational Women's Gold Division cross country meet at the Les Bolstad Golf Course Saturday.
FALCON HEIGHTS, MINN. -- Drake sophomore Omet Kak (Des Moines, Iowa) finished 69th overall out of 213 runners to help lead the Drake men's cross country to 17th in the Roy Griak Invitational Men's Gold Division race Saturday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
For the second year in a row the South Carolina cross country team was met by record flooding as they traveled to a meet by the Mississippi River area with the 25th running of the Minnesota Griak Invitational.
The University of Connecticut women's cross country team traveled to Minneapolis, Minn. to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational held on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The Huskies placed 15th out of 29 teams. UConn was led by freshman Allison Lasnicki (Canastota, N.Y.) who placed 65th in a time of 22:22.
