Jaguar Challenge Highlights Today's Nine Competitions

PREVIEW

Murray County Central Invite (postponed to 9/27)

Location: Murray County Central HS, Slayton

Weather: 50s and thunderstorms

BOYS

Virtual Meet Projection: Worthington (17), Murray County Central (42)

Top Individuals: Adam Koller (Worthington, 16:14), Andrew Huber (Worthington, 17:01), Christian Lietz (Worthington, 17:03), Justin Clarke (Murray County Central, 17:24)

The Skinny: Adam Koller is off to a great start to a season with already grabbing three individual wins. He has had big jumps in performances at each meet comparative to last years which shows the potential for him this season. He has lead his team (Worthington) to some great team wins as well this season. Their biggest competitor at this meet is Murray County Central but they have already beat them by a large margin at four races this year. Worthington has not only seen the improvement of Koller but also of Andrew Huber and Christian Lietz who have had great performances already this season. With a better team this year, they should quickly improve upon their 12th place finish at last year's section meet and get closer to the top of the field.

GIRLS

Virtual Meet Projection: Murray County Central (44), Southwest Minnesota Christian (46)

Top Individuals: Morgan Gehl (Murray County Central, 18:17), Mikayla Johnson (Southwest Minnesota Christina, 20:34), Moriah Bullerman (Adrian, 20:39), Sena Uli (Worthington, 20:58)

The Skinny: The top runner in the field is definitely Morgan Gehl who is currently ranked fourth. She has raced five times this season, all of which she has won. Gehl has also come away with a 17 second personal best, which was during her first race of the season. Last year, this race saw her competing against Tenley Nelson (ranked fifth) which ended in a very close race but Gehl ended victorious. The race this year should be a pretty easy win for her as the next best runner in the field has a personal best that is minutes behind. The team race, however, will be very close between Murray County Central and Southwest Minnesota Christian. Murray County Central has them beat on paper with a faster fifth runner but either way it will be down to only a few points.
