Luke Olson, Ely, Sr.
Ely senior Luke Olson will be fresh off one of the more surprising results at the 2018 State Track Meet this spring. In his first ever season of track he not only qualified for state, the rookie posted impressive 1:55.84/1:55.48 results in the prelims and finals at Hamline to take the state title. This from an athlete who traditionally plays hockey in the winter and comes from a program with no home track certainly makes Olson a must watch runner this fall. Olson's cross country credentials are already strong. Having reached the State Meet the last four years, he finished 7th in 2018. Despite sharing the section 7A spotlight with Uhrbom and Stocke and the 10th best returning PR of 16:13.80, the x-factor of what was clearly a productive spring signals potential for big things this fall.
