Minnesota always has an impressive crop of track and field athletes at the collegiate level, let's check in on some and see how they're doing.

Joseph Fahnbulleh
Hopkins High School
University of Florida

Fahnbulleh has been on fire this indoor season and looks markedly improved from the 2020 indoor season. Fahnbulleh ran a 20.32 at the SEC Indoor Championships to place 2nd behind Terrance Laird (20.28). That 20.32 leaves Fahnbulleh with the second-fastest time in the world this year, and the second-fastest time indoor time in school history.

Owen Hoeft
Hopkins High School
University of Minnesota

Hoeft did himself and his school proud at the last ever indoor meet for the University of Minnesota men's track and field program. Hoeft ran a 4:05.45 at the Big Ten Indoor Championships to take the mile championship in a hotly contested race where the top three finishers were separated by only 0.3 seconds. This was after Hoeft PR'd in the prelims with a time of 4:01.90. Hoeft also finished in fifth place in the 3000m finals.

Bethany Hasz
Alexandria High School
University of Minnesota

Bethany Hasz cannot stop winning lately. Just 27 days after she won the Big Ten XC title, she came out and won the 3000m title at the Big Ten Indoor Championships with a time of 9:06.66.

Julia Fixsen
Mounds View High School
University of Georgia

Fixsen competed in the SEC Indoor Championships and came away with a win and a new PR of 14-5.25. This marks back-to-back performances of clearing 14 feet and her only two instances of going over 14 feet. Her winning performance is tied for seventh in the nation this season among collegiate women.

Shane Streich
Waseca High School
Lipscomb University

The former U of M runner is making his mark at Lipscomb University to the tune to a 3:42.00 outdoor 1500m time, which was good enough for a new school record. From what we can tell from this season so far, it is the fastest 1500m time collegiately this season.

Luke Labatte and Zach Long
University of North Dakota

Labatte and Long both made school history at the Summit League Indoor Championships by being apart of the school record Distance Medley Relay. Labatte also ran the third-fastest indoor mile time in school history (4:11.78).

Anna Keefer
Saint Michael-Albertville High School
University of North Carolina

We all knew that Keefer was a great sprinter already, she had previously won multiple MSHSL state titles before. She has gotten better though. At the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships Keefer ran a 23.56 200m which put her in second place. This is a new indoor PR for her and just 0.02 seconds off of her outdoor 200m PR. This puts her as the 33rd fastest indoor 200m runner in the nation collegiately this season.

Honour Finley
Bloomington Kennedy High School
University of Kansas

Finley ran a 52.27 400m dash at the Big 12 Indoor Championships to place third overall. The 52.27 is a new overall PR for Finley and is tied for the tenth fastest collegiate time this season. She also ran a 23.77 200m for a new overall PR, good enough for seventh overall.

Maxwell Otterdahl
Rosemount High School
North Dakota State University

We all know Otterdahl is one strong man, and apparently, he is strong enough to have the 13th best shot put throw in the nation currently. Otterdahl threw a whopping 64-6 foot throw at the UND Tune-Up. This is a new overall PR for Otterdahl by two inches.
