Obsa Ali and Mason Ferlic to Face-Off in Steeplechase


Former state champions Mason Ferlic and Obsa Ali will face off in the 3000m Steeplechase at the 2021 USATF Grand Prix at Oregon Relays. They will run tomorrow April 24th at 3:04 PST on NBCSN.

Ferlic was the NCAA D1 Track and Field 3000m Steeplechase Champion in 2016, while Ali accomplished the same feat in 2018. They are both former standout Minnesota high school athletes who won multiple state championships. They will both look to make the USA Olympic team this year in their respective events.

According to our results database, Ferlic and Ali have faced off against each other collegiately eight times. Ferlic got the best of Ali all eight times. Though according to our database they have never faced off against each other in the steeplechase.
