Noah Breker and Amanda Overgaauw Voted Minnesota XC ROTY

---

After a week of voting, Robbinsdale Armstrongs Noah Breker and Murray County Centrals Amanda Overgaauws were voted the Minnesota boys and girls cross country runners of the year for their accomplishments this fall. Over 36,000 votes were cast in the end, look at the results for the polls below.

Noah Breker started off the season hot with four wins in his first five races, but he saved his best for last in a couple of huge performances and the season's biggest upset performance. Breker's first win of the season was at the Milaca Mega Meet, but he saved his best for Sections. At the Section 6AAA Championship, he had the upset of the season defeating Sam Scott by 14 seconds with a then PR of 15:21. A week later he backed that up by finishing 2nd at state, and then another week later, he finished 2nd at NXR Heartland behind Gabe Hinrichs.

Breker finished the season as the 2nd fastest Minnesota boy this season with his time of 15:05.80 at NXR Heartland.

Amanda Overgaauw went undefeated on the season and also finished the season with the third-fastest time in Minnesota or 17:41. In all, none of her races were even close and you could say she was the most dominant runner in the state coming out of Class A. The closest anyone came to her in a race this season was at her first race, where Laura Thompson finished 27 seconds behind her.

She finished the season as the third fastest runner in Minnesota and was one of only seven girls in the state to run under 18:00 this season.
