Most Dominant MN Girls Track and Field Athletes of All-Time

Elizabeth Yetzer (1600m)

10 different Minnesota girls have run under 4:50 for the 1600m at least once in state history, but only two girls have done it more than once, Emily Kompelien and Elizabeth Yetzer. Kompelien has done it twice, and Yetzer did it three times. Yetzer is the owner of 3 of the top 5 1600m times of all-time in state history, and amazingly she did it during three different track and field seasons. In 2004 she ran her state record time of 4:46.14, in 2005 she ran a 4:47.12 and in 2006 she ran a 4:46.32. All those performances were at the state meet and contributed to her winning three consecutive state titles at 1600m.

Yetzer also ran a 4:43.12 mile at the 2005 Nike Outdoor Nationals which converts to a 4:41.48 1600m, which would be the best in state history by almost 5 seconds.
