Future Stars: 2022 Minnesota Boys and Girls On the Rise

Lauren Lansing, Farmington High School
Class of 2027

---

Lansing has been a staple in our Future Stars series and our performers of the week's poll, but she has saved her best for the end of the season so far.

Lansing at the South Suburban Conference meet, Lansing set new personal bests in the 800m and 1600m with times of 2:16.71 and 5:11.00 respectively. Those times represented a three-second PR in the 800m and a 1.47-second PR in the 1600m.

Great times for Lansing in general, but all-time great times when you consider she is only a 7th grader!

Lansing's time of 2:16.71 in the 800m represents a new class record for a Minnesota 7th grade girl. She beats the previous record held by Maddie Carrington.
