At the USATF Minnesota All-Comers meet last weekend, Rochester CenturysNathan Nelson made state history when he vaulted 15' 6.25". With his vault of 15' 6.25" was a huge new personal best for Nelson, with his previous best vault being 15' 0" from last years outdoor season.
With his new personal best, Nelson ranks as the #1 Minnesota boys pole vaulter in Minnesota this track and field season and now has the #3 indoor vault all-time for a Minnesota boy. He also ranks #19 nationally this indoor track and field season.
Going into the outdoor season, Nelson ranks as the #2 overall returner in Minnesota with his vault of 15' 0" from 2022, just behind Brian Schloeder at 15' 1". He will be the hands-down favorite for the Class AAA State pole vault title as his nearest competitor from last season had a PR of 14' 0".
