In an already record-breaking senior season for Abbey Nechanicky, the Wayzata standout set a new state record in her first indoor meet of the season in the indoor 3000m at the USATF Minnesota All-Comers Indoor Track and Field Meet at Bethel University.
Breker ran a time of 9:26.25 for 3,000 meters to break the previous record set by Grace Ping in 2018 when she ran a time of 9:45.95 at another USATF Minnesota All-Comers meet.

On top of her new state record, Nechanicky also set a new U.S. No. 6 time for the distance this season. The indoor season is long and varies by state, but Breker's national-leading time would've ranked 6th overall last season, and it sets Nechanicky up nicely for a big track season.
