For a school with such a cherished history of track and field in Minnesota, it sure was a historic week for the Edina boys track and field team with a couple of historic results for the school at the Edina vs. Hopkins dual meet on April, 18th.

First off, Nicholas Presthus broke the twenty-year-old Edina school record in the triple jump with a jump of 44' 6". The old record was held by Nick Pfeifer who jump 43' 4.25" in 2003. Presthus crushed that record by over a foot with his jump.

Incredibly, this is Presthus's first season of outdoor track and field and only his fourth meet overall. In his first triple jump competition, he jumped 41' 8" before his leap of 44' 6".

He currently ranks #2 in Minnesota for the triple jump, only behind Bennett Gilson of White Bear Lake. He also currently ranks T-31st in the long jump with a mark of 20' 5".

Joining Presthus in a notable week for the Edina boys was junior Tate Rasmussen who became the first Edina boys high jumper to jump 6" 4" in the event since 1996.

Rasmussen came into the season with a high jump PR of 6' 3" from the 2022 Section 6AAA T&F Finals. That qualified him for the state track and field meet where he finished 6th overall with a jump of 6' 2".
