Set in 1998 the Stillwater boys had long held the Minnesota boys state record in the 4x800m...
It was broken last year by the Mounds View boys, and now again not even a year later by the Lakeville North boys!
At the Section 1AAA True Team meet, the Lakeville North boys team of Darby Griffin, Ethan Kimmel, Bryce Stachewicz, and Andrew Casey set a new Minnesota state record in the 4x800m relay with a time of 7:36.46 to beat the old record of 7:39.91.

Going into the 2022 outdoor track and field season, the Minnesota boys state 4x800m record was the third oldest Minnesota boys state record going into this season behind the long jump (1982) and high jump (1973). It has now been broken twice in three years.
Their time 7:36.36 is also a new United States #1 for the 2023 outdoor season as seen below:
