It was another big week for Minnesota cross country last week with huge meets like the Osseo Invitational, Farmington Cowbell Classic, and many more other meets across the state bringing together some of the top teams and runners in Minnesota. Every day we get closer to championship season and the performances below highlight some of those individuals who made statements ahead of October. 

Here we look at the Minnesota Girl's Runner of the Week Nominees for Week 6 of the cross country season. 

Polling starts on Monday at 7 am and ends on Saturday at 7 pm.

Girls Runner of the Week Nominees

Carley LaMotte (Burnsville)

LaMotte won the varsity girl's race at the 2023 Farmington Cowbell Classic with a new personal best time of 18:26.3. LaMotte won the girl's race by 37 seconds and set a new PR beating her old PR by 8 seconds. For the 2023 season, she ranks #3 among her class for all girls in Minnesota for the 5K. 

Caitlyn Osanai (Robbinsdale Armstrong)

Osanai notched her second big meet victory of the season at the Osseo Invitational where she won with a time 19:00.16 to win by 14 seconds. This is Osanai's second big meet victory of the season after she won the St. Olaf High School Showcase and her second fastest time of the season for the 5K. 

Isabel Pass (Nova Classical Academy)

Pass a 7th-grader at Nova Classical Academy ran in her first career 5K at the Farmington Cowbell Classic where she finished with a time of 19:57.90. Pass ranks #1 for her class in Minnesota and is the only MN girl is her class to run a sub-20-minute 5K this year. Nationally she ranks #18 nationally for the class of 2029. 

Lauren Eilers (Willmar)

Eilers won the Willmar Glacial Lakes Invitational with a time of 19:29.80 for her second meet victory in a row. Eilers beat out a loaded field that included Class A #1 runner Jenna DeBates and several other coaches-ranked runners. Eilers also improved on her 26th place from the same meet last year. 

Addie Thomes (Redwood Valley)

Thomes ran at her home meet in the Redwood Valley Invite where she came away her first varsity meet victory of her career with a time of 19:19 to win by 43 seconds. Her time of 19:19 was an 11-second PR. Thomes also led the Redwood Valley girls to a dominant meet victory scoring 18 points.
