Totino-Grace brother and sister cross-country runners Joe and Maggie Louiselle enjoyed breakthrough performances at last weekend’s Milaca Mega Meet. Each ran personal bests and placed fourth in their respective races. Joe, a senior with two state meet appearances, finally broke the 16-minute barrier with his 5,000-meter time of 15 minutes, 59.6 seconds. He placed 107th at the state meet as a sophomore and 37th last fall. He is shooting for a top-10 finish at state this fall. (via Minnesota Cross Country Hub | MN High School Cross Country)

The Minnesota State High School League Track and Field State Tournament will be hosted at Klas Field on the Hamline University campus on June 10-11, 2011. On June 10th we will begin with the Class AA 3200 race, followed by preliminary heats in several events. Field events will also begin at 9am. The Class A athletes will take the field at 3pm closing with the finals in the 3200 meter run at 4:50 pm (girls) and 5:05 pm (boys). Below is a quick preview into each event by class.
STILLWATER — Utilizing its experience of having competed in the event last year, the well-balanced, depth-filled Worthington High School boys’ track and field squad finished an impressive third in the Class AA True Team state meet Saturday afternoon. (via www.dglobe.com)

The Minnesota contingent competing in Sioux Falls last weekend had significant success in each race, and will send on a number of athletes to the 7th Annual NXN Nationals at Portland Meadows in Portland, OR on December 4, 2010.
