It's Championships Galore On Conference Tuesday!

Weather: Mostly sunny; high of 64; high 50s around race time

BOYS

Top Teams: North Shore (76), Ely (100), Duluth East (103), Cloquet (115)

Top Individuals: Wyatt Rauvola (Cromwell; 16:27), Ethan Olson (Moose Lake; 16:29), Luke Olson (Ely; 16:38), Jake Paron (North Shore; 16:46), Noah Smith (North Shore, 16:56), Aidan Ripp (Cloquet, 17:00)

The Skinny: With nearly twenty teams competing, we are in for a treat with a very deep competition for the boys. Wyatt Rauvola has the fastest PR this season, however his average is in the 17-minute range. More likely, two very experienced runners in Ethan Olson and Jake Paron will be the ones battling it out for the win. Luke Olson will throw his name in the mix as the battle for the individual title will be relatively up for grabs amongst all five of these runners! The team title should go to North Shore with Duluth East and Ely coming within three points of each other in our virtual meet.

GIRLS

Top Teams: Duluth East (21), Proctor (71), North Shore (129), Ely (130)

Top Individuals: Allegra Pihlaja (Duluth East; 19:48), Molly Weberg (Duluth East; 19:49), Hannah Bettendorf (Proctor; 19:49), Rebecca Miles (Duluth East; 19:53), Ashlee Siegle (Marshall School, 20:20)

The Skinny: Duluth East has pretty much locked in spot their spot as the number one team here, just six points shy of a perfect score with Proctor coming in a distant second in the virtual meet. Ely and North Shore will compete for third place some ways back from Proctor and Duluth East. Naturally then, the individual favorites also come down to Duluth East, as Alegra Pihlaja and Molly Weberg enter with the two best season bests, but Procotr's Hannah Bettendorf's 19:49 is so close to both that the difference is almost negligable. It should certainly be an exciting race for the top three!
