Victoria Lions And EPXC To Highlight Big Day Of Racing

Weather: 58 and cloudy

BOYS

Virtual Meet Projection: Marshall (19), Benson/KMS (68)

Top Individuals: Zach Matzner (Marshall, 16:22), Quentin Blomme (Marshall, 16:59), Jenson Meyer (Marshall, 17:14), Karter Wasberg (Marshall, 17:25), Rory Schackelford (YME, 17:35)

The Skinny: Marshall is an overwhelming favorite heading into today's meet in Montevideo, owning the four fastest times of the day with Zach Matzner, Quentin Blomme, Jenson Meyer, and Karter Wasberg. Matzner in particular has been having an excellent season with two wins and three other top-ten finishes, and is likely going to run away with the win. The one runner with a good chance to break up Marshall's dominance is Yellow Medicine East's Rory Schackelford, as he has been a top-ten finisher in four of his five meets.

GIRLS

Virtual Meet Projection: Marshall (16), Montevideo (79)

Top Individuals: Natalee Sample (Marshall, 19:07), Jersey Leyson (Marshall, 19:23), Bellamy Sukalski (Marshall, 19:30), Kate Bucher (Marshall, 19:35), Clarissa Vanderwal (Ortonville, 20:29)

The Skinny: If the boys are considered overwhelming favorites, the girls are virtually unbeatable. Projected to be just one point shy of a perfect score, tenth-ranked Marshall is also projected to put in 8 runners before any other team gets their second runner over the finish line, and own a point total almost five times smaller than their runner-up. In essense, Marshall will be racing themselves, and probably use this meet more for preparation to the much biggest and more competetive Alexandria Meet of Champions later in the week. Natalie Sample has been Marshall's top runner in five of their six meets, and will likely do the same again today and take the win.
