Bauman-Rovn Headlines a Busy Thursday Meet Line-up

Location: Oak Crest Golf Course, Roseau

Weather: 64°, partly sunny & humid

BOYS

Virtual Meet Projections: Roseau (34), International Falls (35), Warroad (72)

Individuals to watch: Jake Erickson (IF, 17:10), Tristan Anderson (Roseau, 17:34), Parker Sivonen (IF, 17:43), Kyle Erickson (Roseau, 17:51)

The Skinny: International Falls will open up their season in a battle against Roseau that the virtual meet indicates might be a great team competition. Roseau's first meet against the ranked East Grand Forks team ended very favorably as the Rams were just five points behind in the team competition, so this would be an excellent opportunity for the team to get their first win of the season. International Falls will likely depend on their young runners to step up to try to stay ahead. The individual competition is up in the air as no runner in the race has ever broken 17 minutes, but the fastest returner, Jake Erickson, seems to have a leg up after going 4:52/10:36 last track season.

GIRLS

Virtual Meet ProjectionsInternational Falls (26), Warroad (45), Roseau (64)

Individuals to watch: Ryan Ford (IF, 19:46), Eliana Bleess (Warroad, 20:31), Bailey Herberg (IF, 21:11), Lelia Johnson (Roseau, 21:24)

The Skinny: Only three teams project to have enough runners to produce a score, and of those three, International Falls projects to have a solid advantage. They have ten of the top 19 runners in the virtual meet, plus the only runner who has ever run under 20 minutes in her career in Ryan Ford. Warroad, meanwhile, projects to be a strong second, but top runner Eliana Bleess did not run their last race in Thief River Falls. If she doesn't run again, Roseau will get the chance to finish ahead of Warroad like they did last week.
