BOYS IND CHAMP: Mickies Kiros, St Paul Central, 16:05.8 | BOYS TEAM CHAMP: Prior Lake

RECAP: In a field with lots of depth and quality, MNXCCA no. 10 Prior Lake posted a nice team win on Friday. They posted a 16:47 average across a 64 second split. St Paul Central senior Mickies Kiros posted quality win in 16:04 just five seconds ahead of Prior Lake junior and runner-up Gabe Smit. Farmington senior Noah Revels was third in 16:15. Overall 15 boys went under 17 minutes on a very soggy and soft track at Steve Michaud Park.

GIRLS IND CHAMP: Anna Fenske, Farmington, 18:13.5 | GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: Edina

RECAP: Nationally ranked and MNXCCA no. 2 Edina showed their strength with a victory at Applejack on Friday. They averaged a 19:21 over a 54 second split to take a solid win over second place Farmington who was led by MNXCCA no. 3 Anna Fenske who took the individual win in 18:13.5, her fastest performance of the year and fourth best in Minnesota so far this season. Also impressive was Lakeville North seventh grader Claire Vukovics who blasted an 18:39.6 for a runner-up finish just ahead of Edina's top finisher freshman Lauren Cossack who finished in 18:55.7. 

***Also of note was Woodbury junior Tierney Wolfgram's win in the JV race in 18:08.56, the second best performance of the year thus far in Minnesota. Due to a MSHSL transfer related rule, Wolfgram is unable to run varsity races this season but will be aiming for post-season events like NXR and potentially NXN.

BOYS IND CHAMP: Mitch Johnstone, Mankato Loyola-Cleveland, 16:50.8 |  BOYS TEAM CHAMP: Loyola-Cleveland

RECAP: Led by MNXCCA no. 9 Mitch Johnstone's third meet win of the year, Mankato Loyola-Cleveland took home the team victory on Friday. They placed five in the top 11 to pull away from second place Tri-City Unitied for the win. Martin County West junior Jake Lewis was second followed by Tri-City senior Austin Antony.

GIRLS IND CHAMP: Hadley Stuehrenberg, Saint Peter Area, 19:58.2  |  GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: Martin Co. West

RECAP: Martin Co West took home the team win by placing their top five in the top 12, putting five runners across the line before anyone else had four in the chute. Saint Peter freshman Hadley Stuehrenberg won individually in a time just under 20 minutes and less than five seconds in front of runner-up, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop junior Grace Feder.

Eden Prairie Metro Invitational

BOYS IND CHAMP: Oliver Paleen, Saint Paul Highland Park, 16:05.8 | BOYS TEAM CHAMP: Eden Prairie

RECAP: Eden Prairie earned a hard fought win over St Paul Highland Park to win their home meet on Saturday. Highland Park senior Oliver Paleen took the individual win and the Scots led 14-16 through the first three runners for each team. Eden Prairie made up the difference in the final two spots in a 60 split that averaged 16:42 per man. SPHP edged third place Wayzata with both teams averaging a sub-17 minute team average. Chanhassen senior Nick Scheller was runner up less than seconds behind Paleen while EP senior Mohamed Mohamud was third in 16:16.5.

GIRLS RECAP: Led by sophomore Molly Moening winning the individual title, MNXCCA no. 11 St Paul Highland Park also earned the team win on Saturday. The Scots used a team average of 19:38 over a 60 second split to top second place no. 6 Eden Prairie. SPHP put their top five inside the top 13 and were the only team with three in the top ten. EP senior Liesl Paulsen was runner-up, three ticks behind Moening, while Wayzata (did not run full varsity) freshman Abby Nechanicky was third in 19:17.7. Third place Willmar was led by sophomore Nina Dawson in sixth place.

RECAP: Several Minnesota teams traveled south to Decorah, Iowa and the Luther College All-American Invite. Bloomington Jefferson earned solid team victory led by senior Colton Longley winning in 15:44.4. Champlin Park senior Connor Preston was third in 16:17.6. Other Minnesotan runners in the top ten included Rochester John Marshall senior Meti Omod (6th) and Burnsville junior Matthew Krzmarzick (8th). John Marshall was seventh as as team in the field of 28 squads.

GIRLS IND CHAMP: Micah Poellet, Linn Mar, 18:14.3 | GIRLS TEAM CHAMP: Onalaska

RECAP: Top performances from Minnesota included Bloomington Jefferson finishing fifth as a team led freshman Megan Lee finishing seventh in 19:21.1. Bloomington Jefferson also had senior Megan Narveson (7th) and junior Chloe Skidmore (8th) in the top ten individuals.
